Racor 490R-RAC-01 fuel water separator assembly for marine outboard use is the superior choice to protect your investment. The elements display remarkable removal efficiency of both bulk and emulsified water, low restriction of fuel flow, and great dirt-holding capacity. Their one-of-a-kind construction allows them to function in today's maritime gasoline applications, where abrasive particles like dirt and water can scrape and erode delicate components, resulting in costly engine damage and prolonged downtime.

The mounting head and filter body of Racor 490R-RAC-01 features strong electrostatically applied powder coating protecting the filter head and body against corrosion. Spin-on filters are easy to maintain since they have a reusable pollutant collection bowl made of clear engineering plastic or metal that has a self-venting drain for removing waste and water. The integrated hand-operated fuel priming pumps which allow easy air purge. When it’s time for service, only the filter element is replaced—the bowl and drain plug are reused

The Aquabloc® media used by Racor in their S3227 filter elements guarantees the efficient removal of debris and water from fuel. Aquabloc® media is pleated, corrugated, and engineered for maximum water rejection and long service life. Larger water droplets and contaminant particles are deflected downward and into the Racor RK30475 collection bowl as fuel enters the filter head, bypassing the vertical media pleats. Smaller water droplets converge and agglomerate on the specially treated media surface until they are large enough to additionally drop to the collection bowl. Tiny contaminated particles are prevented at the surface of the Aquabloc® media, while even smaller particles are kept deeper in its layers.

Racor RK30475 Bowl as supplied with 490R-RAC-01 is a clear bowl that provides easy to see collection area to check if any water has been removed from filtered fuel. Water can be identified easily as it will be sitting below the fuel in the bowl. Simply open the drain plug with a collection cup beneath and drain out the free water. Clear bowls such as Racor RK30475 are a part of the fuel system that must be inspected: Regularly check for signs of wear and tear, such as distortion and discolouration, and replace if necessary.
